Q0710.GALLGLASSMALLET.M  Incredible coloured totally bluey grey glassgall blown bottle in form of large freeblown mallet, continental, full original surface gloss, striated and swirled wit superb contrasting shades of greeny grey, and many foreign bodies distributed throughout, deep kickup with blowpipe pontil, rounded base edges, bulbous tapering mallet form rounded shoulders into wide based tapering eck striated without any stringrim but lip then everted sheared and resmoothed. Unfortunately large hole at rear with crack radiating off, but displays superbly. 10

Near flat whittled base with wide sandpontil and good wear. Sagged whittled sides and corners, arched shoulders, generally lightly bubbled. Q0710M.LACEMAKINGLAMP.M   Superb example of freeblown leadglass Georgian lacemakers lamp or candle lens, late 18thC, full original surface gloss, very wide solid pontilled foot, baluster stem with hollow baluster section, horizontal disk centre with large semi enclosed bulb to contain water which magnified the light (in the form of a lens) of a candle placed nearby. Rare and fascinating talking point. 8 1/8
